Install (more) ceiling and wall insulation
With too little ceiling and wall insulation, a lot of warmth escapes your building through your ceilings and walls in the winter, and a lot of coolness escapes in the summer. This can be easily prevented by putting insulation into your attic areas above ceilings and in your walls.
What You Need to Do

Step 1A building contractor can install insulation in your attic. Ceiling insulation is a relatively inexpensive material; it is typically blown into your attic spaces to about a foot in depth, or inserted within vaulted ceilings. Be sure to select insulation with at least an energy performance profile outlined below.
